Mental Training
Focus. Resilience. Confidence. Awareness.
Mental strength is important. That's why I regularly engage in mental training sessions with a sport psychologist. Currently, I am working with Dr. Raymond Prior, author of the book "Golf Beneath the Surface: The New Science of Golf Psychology".
Here are key areas we focus on:

1. Focus: Developing the ability to stay focused on what's relevant in the present moment for executing skills amidst distractions.
2. Resilience: Building resilience to handle setbacks and adversity and seeing them as valuable learning opportunities.
3. Stable Confidence: Cultivating self-generating permission to perform freely that doesn't rely on unstable sources like outcomes and praise from others.
4. Emotional Awareness: Interacting with emotions mindfully and effectively for composure and better decision-making under pressure.
Mental training has greatly impacted my performance as a high-performance athlete. It is a crucial element in achieving athletic excellence.
